A Christmas Girls Night Out

Every year we like to try and go see the newest Christmas movie out in theaters. It helps get us into the Christmas spirit (as if we need help with that). This year we planned it with just the girls. Between family and friends there were 13 of us. It was sort of like a Mom and Daughter night. We first went to dinner at the famous La Luna in Jordan Landing. I don't know why we don't try any place different. We just love that dang stuff! After dinner we headed over to see Four Christmas's which I loved! I thought it was a cute movie. I had heard from people that it wasn't good but you just have to be your own judge. It wasn't all that "Christmasy" as I had hoped but it was pretty good anyway. We had a great time and shouldn't wait until the holidays to get to together like this. I know we are so busy and life seems to pass us by so quickly but it's worth taking a night out to enjoy great friends and family! Here are some pics of the girls!

Candy Trains

Every year at Christmas time we make candy trains. I guess instead of gingerbread houses or something we make trains. This started before I can remember at my Grandma and Grandpa Dimick's. My Grandpa loves trains so maybe that's why?! My Mom and dad have sorted of carried the tradition on even though we didn't have any little ones in our family they would still invite other family and friends. We were way excited to start this tradition with our boys and we did the very first year. Even though they were only 11 months old we still had fun! This year I was so excited because I just knew that Hayden would have so much fun doing this and he did!!! He was the only one out of his three friends that are around the same age as him that actually sat there the entire time. The others made their trains but the interest wore off pretty fast. Hayden enjoyed licking the frosting filled knife better than the candy! He's just like his mommy! Here are a few pics from the train making fun we had!

Photos with Santa 2008

The great Bridge Photography had a Santa photo shoot. We decided to take the boys there instead of the mall or some place. We have seen Santa at the mall however Hayden was really shy and didn't want to sit on his lap so he just waved to him. I didn't want to force him and thought he would be more comfortable at the studio rather than the big mall. He was still a little bit timid at the studio as you can see from the many faces of Hayden in the pics below. Hayden talks about Santa none stop and how he is going to bring him presents. A big boy bike and a big boy bed. Let's just hope Santa thinks Hayden has been good this year!!

Look at how cute this one is of Landen and Santa! It's my favorite!

Much to be Thankful For

We hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving this year! I thought we would tell you all about are exciting weekend. Well, I guess it wasn't all exciting. Let's say eventful.

Turkey day started off really good. We spent a little time at Grandma and Grandpa Peterson's early in the day and then went to my parents house for our turkey feast. My Mom has only been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the last 3 or 4 years and I have to say she has it down to perfection! Who wants turkey when you can have homemade stuffing, yams, and rolls!! That's all my plate consists of.

All was well until Nate had eaten to much so he wanted to go home and take a nap. I didn't want to go home it was Thanksgiving and it was only 5:00. So he decided to go home without us, Thank Goodness!!! A few minutes after he left, my Mom got a phone call, from Nate! He had been in an accident. A women decided to run a red light. Nate hit them head on with our truck and smashed up the front end so much that it was not drivable. The two women were in a dodge neon and their car was pretty much wrecked, at least the passenger side was. The good news is that everyone was fine. The bad news is the women didn't have insurance. What jerks!!! It just ticks me off. We were given her personal information and our insurance tried calling them and now their phone has been disconnected. I feel like driving over to their house that is if it really is their house. So that was our eventful turkey day!

Black Friday- One of my favorite days of the year!! This year it was just me, my mom, and SIL Jenna. We left home at about 4:00 am to start our shopping day off. I took my camera to take pics of the craziness out there but I couldn't miss out on the great deals long enough to get it out!

Saturday- We put up our Christmas tree and the little decor outside. I must say we don't have alot to decorate with and what we do have is sort of sad looking! I need to get to Tai Pan and quick!! Oh well, it's all for Hayden and he doesn't much care. He had a blast helping us get it all out.

Later that evening the Dimick Family headed downtown on trax to see the lights. We first went to Gateway and had dinner at CPK. MMM I love the Thai Crunch Salad. It's mine and my Moms favorite! Then we went to Temple square just in time for the countdown for the lights to be turned on. What a beautiful place it is this time of year! After seeing the lights we had a bowling tournament to get to. A Wii bowling tournament. We are addicted to this thing. Aunt Debbie and Uncle Curtis had us over to play the Wii. Hayden plays too. He bowls about an 89. Not bad for an almost 3 year old. We had good times and laughs too! We hope Santa brings us a Wii for Christmas! What do you think, have we been good enough this year?!

Sunday was a day of relaxation after the busy long weekend. We did bake some cookies and of course did a little bit more shopping but nothing major! And now we are back to work =(

I can't believe there is only weeks until Christmas. My first Christmas party is Dec. 3rd for work. It's coming fast!!! YIPPEEEEE!!
