TTA-Hometown Favorites

Some of my favorites close to home are:

  • Grab Lunch

Since I started working for Sundance I found grabbing lunch. I used to hardly ever go out for lunch but now it is 2 sometimes 3 times a week. I blame part of that on why I am getting so chunky! I think our favorite place is La Frontera/La Luna.

  • Go for Date Night

Well these nights are few and far between that's for sure. The last place we went on date night was actually to Biaggi's and then out to Wendover we went! When we do get a date night we like to just have a nice dinner and relax. Nate said the next time we get a date night we are actually staying home and sitting on the couch together. But I am thinking we will head to Biaggi's then sit on the couch for the rest of the evening. We love that place!

  • Pick up Some Creative Goodies

As many of you know, I am not too creative so I need to go someplace that has things that are already created for me! I like Tai Pan Trading. All I can think about lately is redecorating our house so I have Tai Pan on the brain. I haven't been there for a while though. I am going to wait until after we finish up our yard to redecorate our house. What the heck, we are never home anyway!

  • Keep the Kids Busy

In the summer time we like to go to Kearns Recreation Center for outdoor swimming. We also like to play at the park. Winter time is a different story. There isn't alot of things to do so we started a Tumbling class at the Magna Recreation Center. We went to Bouncin' Of The Walls once and that was alot of fun but Hayden was scared. I think the adults had more fun than the kids did!

  • Get Wet

Kearns Outdoor Pools for swimming and for boating our favorite lake is in Delta. I know you are thinking where in the heck is there a lake in Delta. But there really is a little lake in the middle of the fields there and it is so much fun! My Uncle has a piece of property right on the lake so we have our own beach. We have had some fun times there!

  • Buy a Treat

Treats are our favorite!! In the summer we always want to go and get an ice cream so we head up to the Arctic Circle in Magna. But the best bakery is Rogers inside Reams in Magna. I am a donut lover! That is so not a good thing! I also love Paradise Bakery! MMM sugar cookies!!

  • Shop for Fun

We always shop for fun. That's our hobby! If we aren't after something specific then we like to go to Gateway or Park City Outlets.

  • Get Some Fresh Air

Anywhere where we can go camping.

  • Splurge

Fashion Place/Southtowne Mall

  • Drive for a Weekend Away

Mesquite here we come!

My Little Procrastinator... Already!!

I have to tell you all about how funny Hayden has been lately when it is bed time. He has figured out how to procrastinate when it is time for bed. Lucky for us(I think) Hayden is still in his crib. He doesn't try to climb out at all at least not at night time. Nap time is a different story! So why take him out of the crib if he's not climbing out of it, right?

Anyway, during the tucking in and saying good night process Hayden will keep doing funny things and keeps asking us questions. Finally once we say the final good night and he is still trying to talk as we edge our way out of his room it only takes a few minutes before he is hollering my name. I don't know why but he never calls for Dad. Just Mommy! Which isn't a terrible thing and I always rub it in to Nate. I will go into his room after about 3 or 4 yells of "Mommy" and ask him what he needs. He always says more milk. So I find his sippy cup hidden inside of his covers and he still has plenty of milk. This little game he plays with us goes on for 3 or 4 rounds before he decides he can go to sleep. I guess he just isn't ready for bed and boy do we ever so know that he decides what is what at our house! I guess you could say he is the boss! Well, he seems to think anyway! Ok, so I guess he might be just a little but!

A few nights ago he kept saying something and pointing but I couldn't understand what it was he was saying. Finally, I figured it out. He was saying rock and pointing to the rocking chair in his room. Then he said "Mommy rock?". OOOHHH, I miss that so much! That used to be our every night ritual before bed time when he was just a tiny guy. As much as I wanted to I didn't give into him. I didn't want to start another habit thing. Hayden is alot like me and loves to be on a schedule. I think all babies and kids like routine but I think our house is sometimes a little too routine. I get so pissed off when our schedule gets thrown off and Hayden I think is the same way. I am trying to be better and not caring and just going with the flow but dang it's hard! Anyway, I just thought I would share how funny and smart Hayden is. It sure doesn't take long for them to catch on. He so knows how to work the system at our house! Just call us big suckers!!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Today is Administrative Professionals Day. Kind of a strange thing to celebrate but none the less the ones who do recognize this day are great! There have been only a few jobs that I have had or shall I say bosses that I have had that recognize this day and today was one of them. I over heard someone at the gym on Tuesday morning that it was Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday but I never thought anything of it because I don't really consider myself as an Administrative Assistant/Professional I guess and my job title doesn't say that I am either. My actual job title is the Drop Ship Coordinator. This is kind of hard to explain unless you are in the catalog sales business and as most of you know I work for Sundance Catalog. I work closely with our vendors that carry our large pieces of furniture and personal engraved items that we can't bring to our warehouse. There are alot of things that goes into this but basically this is what I do. I work in the Inventory Control dept. with Inventory Planners for all divisions (home, apparel, shoes/accessories, & jewelry) Each planner has a Merchandise support person that helps them out. I am not actually Merchandise Support however I do help our home planner out since most of my items are furniture. So long story kind of still long (sorry), the Planners as well as the Director of Merchandising and Inventory included me on recognizing this day. How sweet is that?! They gave me a really nice card and a $50 gift card to Applebee's. I have to say that this has been the best company to work for. We get all sorts of perks here as an employee like summer hours (1/2 day Fridays). Very cool! Oh and one of the coolest things ever is we get paid to shop! We have sample sales three or four times a year and I love it! These are just to name a few. The list goes on and on of all the great things! I would have to say this is the next best place to work besides working from home like Jess and I have my best bud Jen to thank for that!

Happy 80th Birthday Grandpa Dimick

We celebrated my Grandpa Dimick's 80th birthday on Saturday April 12th. I know, I am a little behind on my blogging. We planned a little birthday party open house style for Grandpa's family and friends. We invited his brothers and sister along with my Grandma's family that we don't get to see all that often. In fact, there were some family members that came that I had never even met. Our family had a great time seeing everyone and being able to visit with one another. Reminiscing has always been one of my Grandpa's favorite things to do whether it be with just us grand kids or his pals that he meets for coffee once a week. So being able to chat with his brothers and sister and family's was a real treat! That's our good ol' Grandpa!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa! We Love You!

TTA-Professional Help

For what activity would you want professional lessons?

This weeks TTA isn't as hard for me as last weeks. I would totally have a Personal Trainer and a personal Nutritionist/Chef to help me out. I am in need of some major help in these areas. I have worked with a trainer before and I loved it! I still work out 5 days a week but I am probably wasting my time. I need to change it up a notch and do different things. After being pregnant my body is so not the same. I am on total burn out mode! And for the eating... what a joke! I have no self control. I know I know I know, it's all about portion control which I think I can easily do but it's all of the yummy sweets that get me. Oh, and eating out. Bad News!! Now if I had a professional Nutritionist/Chef that would teach me more of a variety of things and better alternatives to eat I would be in great shape!

TTA-Livin' on the Edge

So I decided to join the TTA crowd. For those of you that don't know what TTA is, it means Tuesday Tell All. It is a blog that posts a subject to talk about on your own blog. I think it's a great way for everyone to get to know each other better. Some of the other blogs that I have read that have posted a TTA subject are kind of interesting things to have learned about that person. I don't know if you will find my TTA interesting or not but what the heck! I have added the TTA link to my list of blogs so you can try it out too!

If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?

HHHMMM... this is kind of a hard one for me as I am not a very adventurous person like I wished I was. The first thing that came to mind though was sky diving. Who knows, sky diving may not be considered a dangerous thing but to me it is over the edge!! I highly doubt I would ever do this but it has always been in the back of my mind that it would be an amazing experience. I am much too wimpy! It would never happen! However, the TTA says, "with no risk". In this case I would definitely do it. What would I have to lose?! Risk or no risk though I would not be able to do this with water below me. I would have to be clear of possibly landing in any type of water. Oceans, lakes, whatever. I love the water but that would freak me out.

As I was typing this up I thought of two more things that I would do. I would love to go under the knife for all sorts of beauty/cosmectic surgery. From lipo to tummy tuck to you name it I would do it all in one shot. This is also something that I would never do because again, I am a WIMP!! But also because Nate would never allow it. But boy wouldn't that be great?!

Lastly but most importantly, I would have another baby. Having another baby is something very dangerous and risky for me. Had it not be we would have already had another one by now. Having a baby is a risk we all take anyway but for some it is more risky and dangerous than others. There is nothing more amazing than this experience. Hopefully someday Nate and I will decide to have another baby. Now that would be livin' on the edge for the both of us!

So there you have it. My first TTA posting. I look forward to doing this every week. It was kind of fun to think about even though I don't find myself that intersting.

Busy Weekend

It was a great weekend! Busy but great!! My cousin Krystal got married to her hunk o rama cowboylicous man on Friday. He is a little cutie!! You did good Krystal!! Because of the wedding we had some family come to Salt Lake from Mesquite. Just all of the girls came so I have been warning Nate for over a month that this weekend was mine!! We all went to the wedding on Friday and had dinner at Nate's uncles restaurant. It's in Grantsville and it's called Casa Del Ray. If you haven't ever been there and you are out that way you have to stop in and try it. You have to try the Cochinita Pibil. It is my fav!! Oh and I can't forget the yummy fried ice cream that he brings out to us every time we go there! Yummy!!!
Saturday we headed up to Park City to do some shopping! Though I didn't find much to buy(which is probably a good thing as I am always shopping) I still had a great time. Time just flies when your shopping!
We then had a nieces party at my great aunt Sherry's house. I haven't told you about these yet as we haven't had one since I started this blog. Well, my Aunt Sherry doesn't have any kids of her own so she has always been real close with her nieces. So every few months she has been inviting us over for a nieces party. I haven't seen alot of these girls for years so it has been fun to get to know them again and hang out. The party has always been geared around eating a gourmet meal that my uncle Glen cooks, laughing, and talking about the good ol' times that the older girls used to have with Great Grandma and Grandpa Aagard. I don't have a whole lot of memories since they both past away when I was young. I do remember one real good thing though. Whenever we would be leaving his house after visiting he would always cut me a rose off one of his rose bushes. What a sweet man he was! Anyway, so my family from mesquite has never been able to attend one of these parties so it was extra special this time. We played a fun pictionary type game where we had to draw a memory we had of Grandma and Grandpa Aagard. It was very informative! My Grandma was a fortune teller. Now that was interesting to hear about!!
Well, after a busy Saturday I went home and crashed! Sunday morning though we woke up and went straight to my parents still in my pj's. We made breakfast and I hung out there all day until the Mesquitans left for home. I didn't even get dressed the entire day. It was a much needed lazy day after a fun busy weekend!!
