Gilbert Meadow Camping Adventures!

We spent the July 24th holiday weekend at Gilbert Meadows which is in the high Uintah Mountains. My Grandpa Gary owns some land there and has done for many many. My Grandpa spends most of the summer up there and is usually by himself. He just loves that mountain terrain!

My Grandpa took us on alot of fun four wheeling trails and also took us fishing at Marsh Lake. This was Hayden's very first time fishing! He loved it!!! He was a little bit afraid to touch or hold the fish that we caught but he still thought it was pretty cool. Landen was hilarious about the whole fishing thing. He has such a soft heart that he was completely distraught over the fact that we were going to eat the fish. When my brother was cleaning them up after we caught them Landen was really worried then!

We had a wonderful time being able to spend time with my Grandpa whom we don't get to see all that often and we can't wait until we go back very soon!!

One of the first catches made by Hayden.

Hanging out around the fire on some cool little log chairs Grandpa Gary had made.

My Grandpa took us to some little houses that were built back in the depression. That was real interesting.

Our lovely view while fishing.

Nate carved Hayden's initials on the same tree as my Grandpa's. Of course my Grandpa's name is high up on the tree now sinve it was done many many years ago.

My Grandpa's brand that we seen in many trees.

For some reason my brother could not catch a fish. Nate was doing all the fish catching this trip. Until we were just about to leave. Then he caught this bad boy! He was sure proud!

Grandpa Gary and My Mom. I am so glad that she got to spend some time with her Dad.

Grandpa and the Boys.

Our little fisherman!

Mom and Dad. How cute are they!

On a four wheeling trail over to lake we had to go through this river. It was fun!

My Grandpa took us to a place called Suicide Park on the four wheelers. This was real interesting stuff! Kind of creepy! I hope you are able to read the sign. Along with this sign there were 3 or 4 graves with little headstones and it had a wooden fence around it.

Silly Apple Eater!

This is what I found after I gave Hayden a snack. Apples and peanut butter is one of our favorites and apparently he doesn't like the skin on the apples. He is such a silly little boy! I love those little teeth marks!

4th of July Magna Style!

We spent the 4th of July Holiday as we normally do. Magna parade at Grandpa Rock and Grandpa Marsha's house and then a BBQ with some yummy food and some great old friends! It rained at the parade this year which is odd. I never remember it raining on the 4th of July. It's always just as hot as can be!! Which it was still hot and with the rain now muggy! But of course we wouldn't miss the parade for anything!
We usually like to end our evening with the fireworks at Magna park but this year we were invited to some friends house for some good Wyoming fireworks. We had a great 4th of July Holiday in our good old fashioned Magna Town!

My Little Zoo Animal

While my cousin Heather was here from Mesquite we also went to the zoo. It had been awhile since we had been to the zoo. I think we actually missed going last year and the times before Hayden was not all the interested in it but this year he loved it! Of course he loves spending time with those Teitjen boys anywhere!!

Thanks for a week full of great times Teitjen Family!

He may not measure up in size but he sure makes up for it with his big personality!

Feeling elephant skin at the touch and feel show. That was sure strange!

Handsome Landeen!

The old famous lion drinking fountain. "Don't put your mouth on it Hayden!" YIKES!!! I have a major germ thing going one. My family just laughs at me!

My Gatorade blue mustache kid! Yes, I let him walk around the entire zoo with this blue face.

Hayden's Very First Lagoon Trip!

We finally decided to take Hayden to Lagoon. I wanted to last year but was thinking he might be to little and too scared to ride the rides. I am glad that I waited!
My cousin Heather and her four kids came up from Mesquite for a week so we decided that Lagoon would be fun. We went twice! That was a bit much for us but her kids love it!

On the first day we went Hayden had a great time! He wasn't too afraid to get on anything until towards the end of the night. I think he might of have been tired though. I think his favorite ride was the airplanes and helicopters. His least favorite was Puff the Dragon. He didn't cry but when the ride was over he said, "Mommy, I don't like this ride." And that was it! He was such a good sport! He freaked out a little bit on the rides where he got wet too. He doesn't like to be wet.

Landen was a different story! He didn't so much like the rides. It was hilarious though because he would stand in line with us and he knew we were going on the ride but once we actually got on the ride he started crying ans saying he didn't want to go on this ride. He just buried his face and went along with it and once it stopped he was fine. I think he doesn't like the tickle belly feeling. I don't like that either so I knew how he felt. But the mean Aunt that I am I still made him go on the rides. Towards the end I was all by myself with both boys and we went on this small tidal wave type ride for kids and they were both crying and everyone was looking at me like I was a terrible Mom! I think that was the last ride of the night for us. I felt so bad!

On our bounce back day Hayden and Landen switched roles. Hayden would not go on anything and Landen wanted to go on a few mellow rides over and over. I could barely get Hayden to go on the Carousel. I think I ruined it for him though because the very first ride we went on was Rattlesnake Rapids. That scared Hayden to death. Not to mention we got super wet. He screamed the entire time!! That was it for him!! Gosh, maybe I am a mean Mom!
Oh well, I guess it was a great experience and when it comes down to it the boys did have a good time! I think we will attempt it again.... next year!!

This pic is hilarious. They are both crying for different reasons. Landen was scared to death and wanted the bar they are hanging on close to him and Hayden was pissed because he wanted the helicopter to go up and down and you have t move the bar to do so. They were both just freaking out! And I guess the mean Aunt/Mom that I am I just laughed watching them!

This is the ride that got Hayden all wet and he wasn't too happy about it!

Boy, he sure thinks he is the coolest kid ever. (He acts just like his Dad!)

Grandma and Hayden

I think this was Hayden's favorite part of the day! His favorites... slurpee and a churo (he calls them burritos!).

Mama Got A New Ride!!!

Not this Mama, my Mama!! I have been saying for months or years now that this Mama needs a new car but my Mom beat me to it! We have all been beating her up telling her to quit being a tight wad and go buy a new car. She needed one so bad!! She has never had a brand new car for herself. Sure my Dad has had brand new vehicles but nothing that was hers to drive everyday. I guess she could have if she wanted to drive a big truck around.
She looked and looked and finally came home with this sweet Toyota Venza! Congrats Mom! You Deserve it! I am so glad that you finally did something for yourself!

The Swine Flu?!?!?!?!

I got a very disturbing phone call last night from Kathy (Hayden's babysitter). She called to tell me that Braxton (another little boy that she tends) has the swine flu. AAAWWWW Geeze!!! Hayden is not showing any symptoms but I decided to call his pediatrician just in case. They recommended that he take Tamiflu to help prevent him from getting the swine. I gave him his first dose and he could not even get it down. He was gagging and acting like he was going to throw up. Perfect... just 9 more doses to go!!! Well, at least we are going to try and prevent him from actually getting the swine-o!!

Boy, I thought for awhile we could all be healthy. After what I have been through since March we could really use a break from doctors and hospitals. I haven't told you all about this yet but I have had some what they say is acid reflux. But for some reason none of the medications are helping me. So I have been for tons of t ests and the emergency room. They have tested me for H-Pylori(Infection of the intestines) and Crones Disease. Well, after all of these dang tests come to find out I only have an ulcer in my small intestine. I have been in so much pain (hence the emergency room visit). But hopefully we have it all under control now. I bet our insurance company just loves us!!!! Thanks goodness we have insurance!!

Memorial Weekend 2009

After the excitement of seeing Thomas.... (ha ha ha) we went camping out to Vernon. The weather was perfect and so was the company! We had a great time! We decided that the boys are now big enough to shoot there very own gun that their grandpa gave them when they were born. It's a cool little gun that you switch from a .22 to .410 shotgun. That probably doesn't make alot of sense unless you know about guns (I don't really know much myself) but they are super cute. Especially the cute tiny shot gun shells that it shoots. I'm not a big fan of guns but I guess I don't have much of a choice since Nate is such a big hunter. The only thing I can say is that I do make sure that we use gun safety. Even then I still don't like them around and make Nate keep them up. The boys had alot of fun camping as we usually do but this was an extra special trip since this was the first time they got to shoot their very own guns.

Day Out With Thomas 2009

We thought it would be fun to take the boys to see Thomas again this year. Boy were we wrong!! Both Hayden and Landen had woke up on the wrong side of the bed! They were little stinkers! I thought we could spend a few hours and do the activities that they have after we rode on Thomas the Train but we had to get the heck out of there before I had a meltdown. Both boys are in and out of this whining stage and on this day they were both in it together. As you can tell from a few of the pictures neither of them were too excited about getting to see Thomas. Those silly boys! I guess it was just too much excitement!
