Memorial Weekend 2009

After the excitement of seeing Thomas.... (ha ha ha) we went camping out to Vernon. The weather was perfect and so was the company! We had a great time! We decided that the boys are now big enough to shoot there very own gun that their grandpa gave them when they were born. It's a cool little gun that you switch from a .22 to .410 shotgun. That probably doesn't make alot of sense unless you know about guns (I don't really know much myself) but they are super cute. Especially the cute tiny shot gun shells that it shoots. I'm not a big fan of guns but I guess I don't have much of a choice since Nate is such a big hunter. The only thing I can say is that I do make sure that we use gun safety. Even then I still don't like them around and make Nate keep them up. The boys had alot of fun camping as we usually do but this was an extra special trip since this was the first time they got to shoot their very own guns.

Day Out With Thomas 2009

We thought it would be fun to take the boys to see Thomas again this year. Boy were we wrong!! Both Hayden and Landen had woke up on the wrong side of the bed! They were little stinkers! I thought we could spend a few hours and do the activities that they have after we rode on Thomas the Train but we had to get the heck out of there before I had a meltdown. Both boys are in and out of this whining stage and on this day they were both in it together. As you can tell from a few of the pictures neither of them were too excited about getting to see Thomas. Those silly boys! I guess it was just too much excitement!

We Love Mini Vacations!

Although our vacations don't seem like real vacations they are vacations to us, mini or not!!
At the end of May, Nate and my Dad went to Wisconsin to visit some friends that they met while bow hunting in Moab. Nate has known these guys for over 10 years and for the last few years they have invited him and my dad to come visit them in WI for some walleye fishing and turkey hunting. Nate loves to go there. Where they live it is very small town country style. It's the simple life for sure! I can't imagine it but he sure thinks someday we will be living there! Magna is small town enough, right?!
Walleye Fishing on the raft that they stay on for days and days. It's on a river that is behind Jeff's house (Nate's Friend) that goes into Lake Poygen. Nate says the river is huge.

My Dad, Jeff, Nate

As you can see there are several of these "rafts" lining the river. Nate says they build them and they actually have beds and tables and everything you would need besides a shower. Fishing on these rafts is their life there. Nate just thinks that is the coolest thing ever. (I think my husband was meant to be a born again redneck!)

Fishing on Lake Poygen! MMM!! More walleye. Nate and my Dad brought a ton of fish home and it's actually quite good considering that fish is not my favorite thing.

Since Nate and my Dad were gone my Mom and I decided we would go visit our family in Mesquite. We had so much fun! Just my Mom and I and Hayden. No plans, no running to Vegas, no weddings, no nothing!!! All I really cared to do was sit around relax and visit. We did do a few things which was fun but we weren't really on a time schedule so that was nice for a change. One day we went to St. George to shop and have lunch. It was also Mesquite days which I guess is a big deal for those Mesquitoes! So we went to the carnival and Hayden loved the rides. I thought it would be a good test to see if he was going to be scared of rides but he wasn't. So now maybe we can attempt lagoon!

Here's all the kiddos in Mesquite (minus baby Kalen).

Cheesy grinned Hayden on one of the rickety carnival rides.

We all had a great time on our separate mini vaca's. Next vacation though I am hoping is not a mini but rather a big family one! Maybe Disneyland!!! If only Nate felt the same. He just can't even imagine giving up one of his hunts for a trip to see Mickey. I guess we could go by ourselves but I don't want him to miss out on that! There is just not enough vacation time to take all the time off we want him too. We are still working on him though!

Hayden with His Best Doggy Friend!

Here is my handsome little man with his bestest doggy friend ever... River! No, this is not our dog. He belongs to our good friends Jon and Heidi. Jon actually rescued him from a River and that is why he was named that. Sometimes I wished he was ours but other times I am glad he is not. Hayden keeps saying he wants a kitty cat and a doggy and that he is sad because he wants one. Boy, he sure thinks he knows how to work us!! Well actually, he does! Anyway, there is just no way that we could have a dog or a yucky cat. I am allergic to dogs and cats. I don't like cats so that is completely out of the question anyway but dogs I do like. But we would have to get one that doesn't shed. So I have considered that. Then I hear about one of River's little buddies that he lives with chewing on furniture. Hearing that completely cured me of ever thinking we need a dang pet. Luckily, River lives super close to us so we can visit him anytime we want! Am I a mean Mom or what?!

Hayden's First Dentist Visit

A few months ago Hayden had his first visit to the Dentist. I was not looking forward to this what so ever. It is a nightmare taking him to the doctor so I thought the dentist would even be worse. But it actually turned out to be the best visit ever! We went to Jordan Landing Pediatric Dentistry and it was a great decision! I am so glad we went there. The office along with the staff were amazing! The office was decorated so cute and the cute little hygienists were so cute with Hayden. I was totally amazed at how well Hayden did for his first trip that I am actually looking forward to his next check up! The dentist said Hayden has pretty good teeth. Thank goodness he takes after Nate!! Here are some pics of the check up!

Here is Hayden with the cute Hygienist. She was showing him that it wasn't going to hurt so she was polishing his nails with the tools.

The rather cute and young looking dentist checking up on Hayden's teeth while Hayden is playing a game on the ceiling.

What a cheeser!! He was trying to show me his clean sparkling white teeth!

Since he was such a good boy, Hayden got to pick a prize from the treasure chest.

He also got a gold coin to ride the carousel!!

One of Hayden's Silly Moments...

Just a real quick one that I thought I would share!

Nate was asking Hayden to do something but he did the exact opposite of what he was asking.

Nate then asked, "Hayden what planet are you from?".
Hayden replied, "Costco!".

I think we go to Costco a little bit too much! Hayden loves to go there though! He is always excited for a piece of pizza and a churro when we are done shopping. Who wouldn't be anyway! that is some yummy fattening stuff!

Hoppy Easter!

We had a great Easter weekend! This year we decided to go camping with our friends Heidi and Jon and their family. Every year they go to Topaz Mountain. I wasn't sure about going at first because I wanted to be home for all of the Easterly things we do at home while Hayden is still little. But I thought what the heck! My family was always camping at the dunes over Easter weekend and somehow the Easter Bunny always found us while we were there so he would for sure find us at Topaz Mountain! And that he did!!! He came the day before and left each of the boys Spike the Dinosaur. This was really from my parents but we told them it was from the Easter Bunny. Then he came that night and left some eggs with some special flash lights for us to find them with since it was dark. Hayden loved that!!! Then when we woke up he had come again and left Easter baskets and kites for the boys! But that's not all... He had stopped by once again and hid more Easter eggs around camp on Easter morning! That silly Easter bunny visited us 4 times and he was so sneaky that each time we missed seeing him! Hayden loved all of the surprises that the bunny brought for him! He actually slept with the Transformers that were in his basket.

Thanks Heidi and Jon for a GREAT Easter weekend! It will for sure be one to remember!

Hayden loved playing in the dirt!

Playing catch with the dogs. We don't have a dog but I think we need to steel River from Heidi and Jon. River loves kids and Hayden loves River!!! When it was time to go home he asked if we could take River with us!

For some reason Hayden was a real smoochy boy! He was giving hugs and kisses all day! He must have been so happy we were camping and I let him get dirty!

Nate and Hayden shooting guns. Yes, this is a real gun. I hate the gun thing but unfortunately Nate loves gun.
Hayden all geared up to ride on the four wheeler with his Dad. Funny helmet huh!
The Boys!

This is Spike! The remote control dinosaur.

Landen kept wanting to climb these rock cliff looking things and to be like Diego.
